Announcements

At Elliott's urging, Ivan announced that Dmitry Romanov will return to JLab mid-June, and plans to stay for six months. Ivan himself will be leaving mid-July.

DFCALPhoton vs. DFCALShower

Mihajlo and David explained the situation.

  • There is an inconsistency in the naming convention between the FCAL and the BCAL.
  • Mihajlo will work on bringing them into registration.
  • The hierarchy is
    1. detector hit
    2. cluster
    3. shower
    4. particle
  • A shower does not become a particle until associated with a vertex. The photon has a full three-momentum. Before that the shower only contains local coordinate information.
  • Mihajlo proposed that the algorithm to merge showers should be applied after matching showers with charged tracks and not before matching. David and Mihajlo will discuss this offline and report to the group.

propose to make this change.

paul missing a whole bucnh of particles fixes were done to the vertex factory photons were 0 momentum and energy improved if not fixed re-ran b1pi analysis last stable build was getting 5% reconstructed high mass tail to unphysical values new, was not there 3 mos ago pi0 now wider than before

vertex factory, where particles are grouped, charged and photons, cut hard-wired at 3 sigma, time and z, things were grouped into different vertices, several

vertex structure, class, member of dvertex, hold shower, inherits from dkinematic data, pointers to cluster objects, reconstructed info, not copied into dkinematic data part. info now copied into dkinematic data infinitely large cut, 100 sigma, a configuration parameter veryy good bulshitters

New Action Items

  • Decide on cluster merging after or before charged track matching.
