Action Items

  1. Close the loop on 45, 45, 135, 135, AMO configuration with Alexandre and Hovanes (Elton) Included in run plan
  2. Restore HV to FMWPC and take data with CTOF FP trigger. Send out info on run numbers (Beni)
  3. Review with Nick (and also Hovanes and Justin) the operation of the DIRC interlocks during CPP. Ideally eliminate interference or else provide guidance to shift crew for restoration (Beni) Hovanes has disabled the DIRC interlocks
  4. Add CTOF trigger bit to monitoring plot (Alex) Histograms have been updated
  5. Add procedures for adjusting the Pb shield frame and target to Shift Taker's wiki (Elton) Done.

Preliminary Agenda

  1. Previous CPP meeting: Jun 1, 2022
  2. Previous CPP Software meeting: Π polarizability Software Meeting May 5, 2022
  3. Announcements
    • Run Coordinator Meetings
    • The accelerator expects to start delivering beam by noon today.
    • Long RC meeting this morning covered the Run plan in great detail.
  4. Action Items
  5. CPP-NPP Trigger (Sasha)
  6. CPP and NPP Run Conditions
  7. Photon beam / tagger / diamonds
  8. Software/Calibration, Simulations
    • GlueX software is being updated with a new BMS OSNAME, so local builds will need to make appropriate changes with $BUILD_SCRIPTS/change_bms_osname.sh. See recent e-mail from Mark Ito.
    • hdview2 event display
  9. MWPC Testing
  10. Log Entry 4000090 Look at Recent Cosmic Run (Elton)
    • Log entry contains distributions of MWPC Wires and CTOF Counters including correlation plots.
    • Run used was 100288. The CTOF FP trigger was selected; other events were ignored
    • Most of the distributions looked reasonable with the following exceptions:
    • CTOF #3 seems to be practically dead. Beni raised the HV yesterday but did not see a big change.
    • The CTOF Point objects exhibit a strong y=0 entry in all counters. Simon traced this to Hits in both PMTs with the same time (yielding y=t1-t2=0). Beni is looking at lower level objects and does not see this behavior, but other anomalies are visible. Simon and Beni will continue to investigate the source of the problem.
    • We see correlations between horizontal planes. The correlation between vertical planes is more difficult to observe; it might be due to a sizable background (or noise) in the spectra. Rory: suggests that we wait for beam when geometry is better constrained.
    • Rory: the dE distributions in the wire chambers do not show a minimum ionizing peak like we say in the EEL. Again the background level may be overwhelming the plots. Needs further investigation.
  11. CPP and NPP Experiment Configuration
  12. DAQ and Electronic Setup (Sergey and Beni)
  13. Documentation (Elton and Simon)
  14. Other business
  15. Next meeting
