  1. Previous CPP meeting: Dec 1, 2021
  2. Announcements
    • Current experimental run is extended till Monday Dec 20.
    • Report on MWPC Testing submitted to ERR Committee
    • Yesterday Tuesday Dec 7 at 3:00 pm we met with Richard to coordinate the moving of the microscope in early Jan. See Meeting Notes
  3. Action Items
  4. TOF/CAL trigger discussion
    • We would like to take some data with beam to check that the current version of the firmware does not have any major issues. So far it has been downloaded and tested on the bench by Hai, but not yet downloaded to any crates in Hall D
    • Eugene: The main issue is check the firmware for the TOF trigger. Combining TOF and FCAL/BCAL triggers, which requires adjusting timing is presumably not an urgent task for this run although any advance testing will always be useful.
    • A schematic outline of the TOF trigger can be found in Elton's slides from the ERR review.
    • Eugene will organize a meeting between Sasha, Sergey, Beni, Mark and Ilya to determine how to organize the test.
    • Ilya will develop a more detailed plan for the trigger test
    • Person coverage for the test: Ilya and Mark are available. David H. volunteered to investigate supporting the effort as a remote shift taker. [Elton sent him information about remote shifts]. Mark: It might be possible to get volunteers from SRC to cover worker shifts.
  5. Software/Calibration for CPP (David, Alex and Sean)
  6. PID + AI
    • Data for AI (Andrew)
  7. CPP and NPP Readiness Review
  8. MWPC Testing
    • FMWPC Log Book
    • Rory will be at the lab next to investigate electronic noise on Frodo and Galadriel.
    • Rory requested a) contact information for help in EEL126 b) second table to use for electronic noise, while keeping a "good" chamber in the cosmic-ray position. [Note added: Elton contacted Mark Stevens following the meeting to help organize these requests].
    • Beni: Wishes to investigate the ultimate position resolution achievable with the cosmic-ray counters using a Flash250. A spare module was obtained, but he needs Sergey to help set jumpers and install.
  9. CPP and NPP Experiment Configuration
  10. Electronic Configuration (Beni)
  11. hdgeant4 updates (Mark)
  12. Software consolidation (Simon)
  13. GlueX Data Analysis
  14. CPP Simulations
    • Log 3958834 Particle Gun Distributions for muons and pions (Elton)
    • Elton has updated his software with the CPP modifications described in Simon's earlier email (see Log Entry)
    • Pions and Muons generated with the particle gun were passed through the geometry and generate reasonable distributions.
    • The geometry was loaded into into a sqlite CCDB file for testing. It was decided that Elton go ahead and update the CCDB data base with the var=mc_cpp for runs 70000 - 999999.
    • Elton proposed that Simon go ahead and push changes to hdgeant4, hdds and halld_sim because these are not expected to change much once the they are debugged. The CPP branch in halld_recon should continue to be used by our group as we develop software. Simon agreed with this proposal.
  15. Other business
  16. Next meeting
