Action Items

  1. Take a current rate scan on full target later in the run to investigate any rate dependent effects. (Rory and Elton) We decided that taking full target production data at reduced current was not a good use of beam time.
  2. Continue to investigate neutral channel signals (Simon, Alex, Beni) Data analysis were shown by Beni and Ilya and Simon is making updates to the analysis software.

Preliminary Agenda

  1. Previous CPP meeting: Jul 27, 2022
  2. Previous CPP Software meeting: Π polarizability Software Meeting May 5, 2022
  3. Announcements
    • Elton will give a seminar on CPP-NPP at William and Mary on Fri Sep 2
    • Opportunity to give a talk at QNP2022 (remote at FSU) Sep 5-9
  4. Action Items
  5. Spread Sheet with Run List (Albert)
  6. Software/Calibration, Simulations
  7. Photon beam / tagger / diamonds
  8. DAQ and Electronic Setup (Sergey and Beni)
  9. CPP-NPP Trigger
  10. Current Run
  11. CPP and NPP Experiment Configuration
  12. Documentation
  13. Other business

Minutes

Attending: Andrew, Albert, Beni, David H., David L., Elton, Ilya, Rory, Simon

      • Rory, Andrew or Albert will give the talk and coordinate with Susan Schadmand.
  4. Action Items
  5. Spread Sheet with Run List (Albert)
    • Albert has been updating the statistics. It appears we are on target to take all data approved by the PAC by Aug 17. The plan is to take data till Friday with empty target before switching back to full target.
  6. Software/Calibration, Simulations
    • Log Entry 4023548: MWPC efficiency (Ilya)
      • Ilya has entered a Log entry with details of his MWPC efficiency estimate
      • Elton: Could sum all wire signals in a plane and use a threshold on it, instead of placing thresholds on individual wires.
    • dsigma/dtheta pi0 dsigma/dtheta eta single pi0 and eta coherent cross sections on lead at 5GeV (Ilya)
      • The cross section for exclusive pi0 signal was shown.
      • The eta cross section was computed by replacing the pi0 mass by the eta mass.
      • These can be compared to data to check early signals.
    • Log Entry 4023645: 2pi0 final states (Beni)
      • Beni has processed about 38 full target and 13 empty target runs.
      • Clear 2pi0 signal. Comparison of (normalized) full to empty targets shows a slight enhancement at zero angle. Lots of progress but no final results yet.
    • (pi0 pi0 eta(2g)) first look at eta' (Ilya)
      • A clear eta' signal is seen, as a first step
    • Code updates (Simon)
      • There are two pull requests on Github that are relevant to CPP:
      • Sean found a bug in the CTOF code
      • Simon has added flags to optimize tracking starting at the upstream target location for CPP.
      • Simon has added code changes to speed up tracking, which may help in general.
  7. Photon beam / tagger / diamonds
  8. DAQ and Electronic Setup (Sergey and Beni)
  9. CPP-NPP Trigger
  10. Current Run
    • FMWPC Log Book
    • halldweb/talks/CPP_NPP
    • Rory: Concern that the TAC run should not be delayed till the last week of the run. All agreed that we should take the TAC run tomorrow if the bleed through allows.
